Namibia from Johannesburg

11 days

Day 1: You arrive at Johannesburg International and will be picked up by one of our colleagues to take the short drive to Rand where you can master your check out flight the same afternoon. During dinner we will discuss the routing of the upcoming days.

Day 2: Your first flying day will bring you to Augrabies. Enjoy the views of endless Karoo during your flight and visit the majestic waterfall (56 m) of the Orange River in the Augrabies National Park in the afternoon.

Day 3: You have an early start to clear customs in Upington before you go on to Luderitz (NA) for immigration and an afternoon stroll through town.

Day 4: A short flight of about 1 1/2 hours will bring you right into the dessert. Enjoy the sand and dunes around Sossusvlei.

Day 5: Take a day to relax and enjoy the magic of the desser.

Day 6: Return towards the coastline to go to Swakopmund. Take the afternoon to discover the town.

Day 7: After refueling you follow the Skeleton Coast up North for about half an hour before you are heading inlands towards the Etosha National Park. From the desert you now move into grassland with an abundance of African wildlife that you should not miss to see. Namibia's dry season is from May till October where animal spotting is easy as herds congregate around the water holes. However, Namibia has a lot of wildlife and also in the rainy season (which is not that rainy compared to other countries in Southern Africa) you can be sure to spot them!

Day 8: Enjoy the wildlife on Ethosa during your morning and afternoon game drives, relax in your lodge during the hot hours of the day!

Day 9: Your last stop in Namibia will be the capital Windhoek. Spend the afternoon chasing some souveniers on the local markets and enjoy the vibrant city life.

Day 10: Another long flying day with refueling and customs clearance at Windhoek and the immigration in Upington where you will stay for the night.

Day 11: Time to head back to Johannesburg. If you want, you can already tonight catch a flight back to Europe. But why put yourself under pressure? We recommend to stay another night and let the holiday adventures sink in.

We recommend a minimum of 11 days for the Namibia route. Obviously duration of stops can be prolonged with extra nights.

The great Namibia experience takes 23 hours flying time (2.400 nm)
